Media Arts and Science capstone event planned for April 25

March 28, 2008

More than 40 Media Arts and Science students will present their Capstone Projects in a one-night event that demonstrates some of the cutting edge technologies in new media. The event will be held on Friday, April 25, 4-8PM, in the IT (Informatics) Building, on the corner of Michigan and West Streets, on the IUPUI campus.

Those that attend will have an opportunity to speak with the new media designers one-on-one and to hear them present the details of their work. Projects will focus on video production to Web site development, 2 and 3-D animation, stereo-optics, digital music, gaming and more.

The Capstone is the culmination of a student’s academic experience in Media Arts and Science and the opportunity to demonstrate competence in various aspects of digital storytelling. All are the result of many hours of hard work in the computer animation labs, at on-location video shoots, or grasping the intricacies of designing a database for a Web site. Students, faculty, staff, employers, families, and the general public are invited to attend this first-time single-evening Capstone event and to talk with students about their projects.
