Student services professional joins School of Informatics

Gloria L. Quiroz has been named to the post of undergraduate academic advisor in the Indiana University School of Informatics at IUPUI, effective June 9, 2008.   Ms. Quiroz holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs, both from Indiana University. 

Quiroz joins the School having held two campus positions previously - assistant director of the IUPUI Office of Undergraduate Admissions; and academic advisor in Liberal Arts and Education via University College.

She is the recipient of several campus awards including Outstanding Advisor of the Year in 2003; Outstanding Female Staff Leader in 2004; John Whitesel Award for Professional Staff in 2004; and the Glenn Irwin Experience Excellence Award in 2006.

Quiroz is actively engaged in the local community serving as a member of the board of directors of La Plaza [merger of FIESTA and El Centro Hispano]; and as chair of the Norman Brown Diversity and Leadership Program.
