Graduate student Joan Savage is spending the spring semester in Beijing, China, working with researcher Darren Edge at Microsoft Research Asia. She will be blogging regularly about her experiences.
Savage journeyed to China earlier this month where she and Edge will collaborate on research and development of mobile gaming software. Savage, who is in her last semester as a Media Arts and Science graduate student, earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and communications – electronic media and served in the United States Navy during the Gulf War. She grew up in Asia and Venezuela. Her research interests include designing applications to help veterans. She plans to pursue her doctorate in human-computer interaction upon returning to Indianapolis in May.
