Research to Concepts: Making Good Interaction Design Decisions

Dan Saffer is an experience design director for Adaptive Path, who has designed and built Web sites, applications, and devices since 1995. An international speaker and author, his acclaimed book Designing for Interaction has been called "a bookshelf must-have for anyone thinking of creating new designs" and has been translated into several languages. At Adaptive Path, Dan leads projects for a wide variety of clients, from large organizations like Greenpeace and Time Warner to start-ups such as Ning and Foxmarks. An experienced design director, he mentors and oversees Adaptive Path's experience designers.
Dan has spoken at such conferences as Design Thinkers, SXSW, Business to Buttons, and Webvisions. Dan's writing on design have appeared in BusinessWeek, Vitamin, and Boxes and Arrows. Dan has taught workshops on interaction design in the US, Europe, and Australia.
Dan is a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and the Interaction Design Association (IxDA). He received his Master of Design in Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University.
