6 Hot IT Jobs for 2012… (drum roll please)

Before leaving for winter break the career services staff noticed an increase in demand for IT students and alums from our employer base. After reading an article in CIO, shared by a faculty member, Davide Bolchini, the office thought we’d share the news with the rest of the world.

The job market in the US for these IT positions is expected to rise:

  1. Mobile Application Developers
  2. Software Developers
  3. User Experience Designers
  4. IT Security Professionals
  5. Data Warehouse Architects, Analysts, and Developers
  6. Infrastructure Professionals

The Informatics Career Services Office has had an increase in requests for candidates for several of these areas, especially for Mobile App Development candidates. If you are a current student who’s taking some of our mobile app classes then congratulations! You have a future career and job stability to look forward too!

Hiring is UP for Tech Workers!

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, hiring is up for Tech Workers. Last month the tech industry added 7,100 jobs, which was a .17% increase from the previous month. ComputerWorld confirms that Tech industry employment is nearing an all-time high and may surpass the record set back in June 2008 with 4.088 million tech workers.
