Informatics Student Government (ISG)
Informatics Student Government (ISG) is the governing organization for student clubs and activities at the School of Informatics. It is comprised entirely of students from across all School of Informatics’ programs who work with the school’s faculty and staff to plan activities, build community and speak with students about their experiences. Women in Technology (WiT)
Women in Technology (WiT) is dedicated to improving the community by empowering women from all disciplines to utilize technology to make a difference. It seeks to empower and support its community of diverse women by developing their skills and broadening their knowledge of technology through professional development, networking, community outreach and interdisciplinary research. We strive to provide a network of support and promote an exchange of ideas among women from all fields that encourage the use of technology and knowledge of its benefits. Students & Technology in Academia, Research, and Services (STARS)
The mission of the STARS (Students & Technology in Academia, Research, and Services) Alliance is to increase the participation of women, under-represented minorities and people with disabilities in computing disciplines through multi-faceted interventions. The interventions focus on the influx and progression of students from middle school through graduate school in programs that lead to computing careers. The Alliance is organized as a national constellation of regional stars that include research universities, minority and women’s universities and colleges, K-12 educators, industry, professional organizations and community groups. Health Information Administration (HIA) Connection
HIA Connection serves those students with an interest in health information administration by providing opportunities and resources for community service, academic planning, education and networking. Contact President Juanita Sharlow, jsharlow@iupui.edu, for more information.
Q-Media
A media group comprised of determined and creative college students who enjoy filmmaking (audio/video production), among other things. The group’s goal is to allow both Informatics and non-Informatics students to build their portfolios and gain experience in applying their knowledge into team-based film projects. Roles include writers, producers, casting directors, screenplay artists, wardrobe, designers, etc. These projects include 2D animation, film shorts, documentaries, commercials, feature films, etc. The programs they will use are standard Adobe Creative Suite Design and Production software, or something similar.
Gamers Guild
The Gamers Guild of IUPUI is an organization where students can kick back, relax and enjoy gaming in all its forms. Please feel free to bring in any video game console, board game or card game you desire to any meeting.
The Illustration Club
The Illustration Club is for any creative IUPUI student who has a talent, interest or fascination for illustration. Students can learn the wide range of styles and techniques illustration has to offer as an art form, as well as how break into the illustration industry.
ACM SIGGRAPH IUPUI Student Chapter
The ACM SIGGRAPH IUPUI Student Chapter’s goal is to create a campus-wide collaborative organization for students to promote computer graphics, interactive techniques and creativity. Member benefits include access to job and internship opportunities, guest lecturers, workshops, competitions, potential collaborators and the annual SIGGRAPH national conference.
