I530 Seminar in Health Informatics Applications
This course examines the basic concepts of the design, evaluation, and use of interactive applications in health informatics. It is intended to provide students with a solid foundation on matters that impact health informatics, including intellectual property, privacy and confidentiality, information access and evaluation, systems selection and evaluation, health care terminology, health care economics, telemedicine, dental informatics, consumer health informatics and hospital information systems. It will also offer a practical overview of the emerging field of health informatics, including the history of the field, the various disciplines that are closely related to the field, the current state of the art in the field and the future possible directions for the field.
