Biography

Freddy works for the IUPUI Office of Communications and Marketing producing videos for JagTV that promote, advertise, and inform the public about IUPUI. He is interested in developing new ways to distribute video and create new ideas and technologies for the the digital world. Freddy would like to attain a Ph.D. in the realm of New Media and plans to stay in academia and provide innovative ways to market and distribute video.

Thint T. Cho

Biography

Thint was born in Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. She is bilingual in Burmese and English. She was awarded a Certificate in Applied Computer Science from the Purdue University School of Computer and Information Science at IUPUI and a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Science from the School of Informatics at IUPUI. Thint's area of focus is Web development.

Angie English

Biography

As a new student in 2005, Angie English was initially a Biology Major. In her second semester she heard about the Media Arts & Science program and followed another passion. She completed her B.S. in Media Arts & Science and has taken that knowledge into the graduate program to earn her masters, also in Media Arts & Science. Upon research, she  may pursue her PhD. Her primary areas of expertise are Photoshop, photography, and Web design.

She has a desire to teach and learn thus leaving two different directions of long-term goals. The first goal would be to pursue an advertisement/design position in a medium-sized company. The second goal would be to become a faculty member in the Media Arts & Science program.


Eric Esterline

Biography

Eric Esterline is a Media and Video Teacher at Westfield High School in Westfield, IN. He is also the district Technology Professional Development Coordinator. He has spent the last year in the role of Tech PD Coordinator and now has been charged with starting a Media and Video program at Westfield High School. Eric previously taught Video and TV Production at Brownsburg High School and spent one year at Carmel High School in their video department. He spent 4-5 years in the sports radio business in Indianapolis (WNDE, WXLW), Jacksonville, FL (WBWL), and Washington DC (XM Satellite Radio) as well as working in TV production and sports writing.

Chauncey Frend

Biography

Chauncey Frend grew up in northern Indiana attending Penn High School where he enjoyed tinkering with video and audio production.  When he started studying New Media in Indianapolis he found his passion in immersive environment design.  For his undergraduate capstone project he created a controlled immersive environment where viewers could smell the 3D movies they were watching.  Currently he is studying immersive design within the context of Augmented Reality.  He currently works in the Indiana University UITS Advanced Visualization Lab as an Analyst/Programmer assisting IU researchers with visualization needs. His research is geared towards becoming a theme park Imagineer with the Disney Corporation.

Thomas Johnston

Biography

Thomas would like to pursue a position as a faculty member within the School of Informatics, particularly with the Media Arts and Science program. He is also trying to become an expert user of the Adobe CS 4 Suite.  Thomas is currently working diligently on the mastery of Adobe Flash and Flex Builder 3 as well as Action Script 3.  Other applications of interest are Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

David W. Kelley

Biography

David was initially focused on Flash development, but later moved to Web development. His hope is to develop a game hosted on an interactive, Flash-based Web site. He hopes this project will strengthen his understanding of Flash and allow his to apply it to Websites and games.

Biography

Amber Pratcher is an Assistant Director in the IUPUI Office of Student Scholarships. She was accepted to a prominent Indiana Ph.D. program for HESA (Higher Ed/Student Affairs) but decided to pursue something that she enjoys doing - web development, design and general new media. She would love to pursue a career at IUPUI building upon her new media and HESA skills in adminstration. She also has an interest in working in a non-profit or corporate environment where she can make a difference with her skill set.

Todd Shelton

Todd Shelton

Biography

Todd hails from Anderson, Indiana and is currently employed at The Basement Design + Motion as a Flash Developer. He really likes the physical computing side of the media arts field because it lets him develop new and innovative ways for people to interact with computers and communicate with others. Todd plans to teach at the college level once he completes his master's degree.
