Biography

Mathew A. Powers received his MFA in Digital Art in 2006 concluding a four-year career as Webmaster of the SoFA website and as an Assistant Instructor at Indiana University, Bloomington. His teachings focus on 2D and 3D animation, virtual reality environment construction, and web design. He specializes in character, environment, narrative, and game creation. After graduation, Mathew continued his digital teachings as an Adjunct Instructor in the Digital Art department. He was also an Adjunct Instructor at the Columbus, Indiana Ivy Tech Community College Visual Communication department. Here he focused on Web Design and Flash Animation. Additionally, Mathew has spent that last year and a half as a Flash Media Developer at the Bloomington based company, Option Six. At Option Six, Mathew designed and created e-Learning applications and animations for clients such as Microsoft, Lilly, and Toyota.

Research Interests

Character, environment, creature, and narrative creation and analysis. Immersive virtual reality and gaming experiences. Interactivity for animations and websites and incorporating traditional fine arts into the digital realm.
