Biography

Neal G. Moore is Director of Community Relations, providing publicity and marketing services for Indiana University’s School of Informatics, at IUPUI in Indianapolis. His charge is to elevate the school’s profile – locally, nationally and internationally – via media coverage of faculty and student research projects in the various Informatics disciplines. He produces and hosts regularly scheduled Webcasts and podcasts, providing updates about the School of Informatics. Moore also works with faculty and students affiliated with the Informatics Research Institute. He was recently selected to serve as the first-ever president of the IU School of Informatics Alumni Association.

Prior to joining IU, Moore was a vice president with Sease, Gerig & Associates, an Indianapolis-based public relations firm, providing clients with p.r. counsel, speech writing, media relations, crisis communication training and the writing and producing of corporate marketing videos. He also served as the firm's computer and Internet manager.

Since 1997, Moore has produced and hosted a local television interview show, Comcast Newsmakers, featuring central Indiana government, business and not-for-profit leaders as guests. Comcast Newsmakers airs hourly within CNN Headline News on Comcast's 160-thousand subscriber system in Marion County.

Moore is a former television news anchor and reporter, most recently for WISH-TV, Indianapolis. There, he served as the CBS affiliate's lead-story reporter, the final stop of a 22-year journalism career, defined by superb writing and communication skills, including political, investigative, crime, disaster, business, feature, and sports reporting at three television and various radio stations in Indiana and Michigan.

He is a recipient of numerous journalism awards from the Associated Press, United Press International and Society of Professional Journalists, and gained international experience while traveling in Africa and South America and reporting from Russia.

His television interviews and news conferences include President Ronald Reagan, President George Bush, Vice President Dan Quayle, Muhammad Ali, Pete Rose, and Bob Knight, among scores of others. Moore was a principal network reporter during the criminal trial of Mike Tyson, providing live satellite reports to television stations around the world.

Moore has taught broadcast journalism courses at Anderson University, Anderson, Ind., and performs on-camera and voice talent work. He is an Associate Fellow with Sagamore Institute for Policy Research, an Indianapolis-based think tank, providing media criticism and commentary.
