Biography
Todd Shelton started his career in music attending the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, majoring in guitar performance and later attended Berklee College of music, specializing in recording and engineering. Todd also attended the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio and recorded local artists after he completed his education..
After a long stint in music, Todd altered his career path and pursued web development. Todd obtained his B.S degree from the school of Informatics in 2008, focusing on Web and Flash development. After graduation from IUPUI with his undergraduate degree, Todd worked as a Flash Developer for The Basement Design & Motion company, an award winning design company here in Indianapolis. During his stay, Todd advanced to a senior developer position, working on several award-winning projects and began to pursue his master’s degree in IUPUI’s School of Informatics. Todd also began teaching as an adjunct instructor at the Art Institute of Indianapolis, teaching several scripting class as well as a portfolio development class.
After working for The Basement, Todd worked at Herff Jones Inc. as an Application Developer. While at Herff Jones, Todd gained knowledge in MVC, Java, and several server side languages. Todd finished his Masters degree in Media Arts & Science during this time and joined the School of Informatics at IUPUI as an Adjunct Faculty member.
Todd also is a contributor for the RIA RockStars site, and runs the local Flash Indianapolis users group. When Todd is not at work, he enjoys physical computing and developing projects using AS3 in interactive spaces and large areas. Although Todd’s primarily develops in Flex/Flash Builder, he has also developed various PHP/HTML/MySQL projects. Todd loves to teach and sharing his knowledge with others. He is always creating tutorial videos that demonstrate how to create and develop web projects for public use. You can find them on YouTube (ponyb411) and Vimeo(tweenout).
