Studio Lab Policies
Specialty studios and labs are available for Informatics faculty, staff, and students who are taking classes from the School of Informatics in the current semester.
Rooms currently available:
- IT 358 – Green Screen Video Production
- Cameras, audio equipment, and additional lights are available by reservation from Equipment Checkout.
- There is a light grid installed in the room.
- Instructions for using the Light Board will be posted soon.
- Do NOT attempt to adjust the lights in the grid. If you need assistance, contact the technology staff. If there are any bulbs that need replaced, please submit a Request for Service.
- IT 360 – High End Audio Production, including Surround Sound
- Microphones and other audio recording equipment are available by reservation from Equipment Checkout.
- If you need assistance with the software or hardware installed in the studio, please submit a Request for Service.
- IT 470 – High End Video Editing
- The room may only be reserved by students enrolled in a video production course.
- There are two computers installed in the room. Additional video equipment is available from Equipment Checkout.
- If you need assistance with the software or hardware installed in the studio, please submit a Request for Service.
Students may be granted access to these rooms via their JagTag. Interested undergraduate students must fill out a Lab Access Form and return it to Matt Spangle in IT 266. A faculty sponsor must sign the form for undergraduates. Graduate students may fill out a Request for Service. In either case, students must have their JagTag scanned to enable access.
All reservation requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance and are for 3-hour time blocks.
All studios and labs are quiet study areas. No food or drinks are allowed in these rooms.
You must logoff when your reserved time is ended.
Do not lock the computer for rendering or exports. Your render or export must be complete when your reserve time is ended.
You are responsible for your data. Do not assume that data you leave on the computer will still be there when you come back for subsequent visits. All data are subject to removal at any time by the technology staff.
